About

Here to support your sexual wellbeing

I’m Lorraine Grover, and welcome to my website. I support men and women experiencing sexual health and intimacy challenges, providing a safe, understanding space to talk openly. Together, we’ll explore your concerns, find the right solutions, and help you regain confidence and connection.

With over thirty years’ clinical experience in the NHS and private sector, I trained as a nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, and qualified as a Psychosexual (Sex) Therapist in 2003. I have extensive experience managing erectile dysfunction, including developing nurse-led clinics at St George’s Hospital and contributing to early sildenafil (Viagra) trials. I take a holistic approach, addressing both psychological and physical causes, tailoring care to individual needs.

I’m also involved with the Sexual Advice Association, Prostate Cancer UK, and Macmillan Online Community, providing practical, expert support.

I serve on the ESSM Advisory Board, representing the National Affiliated Societies, and I am proud to be the first nurse to hold this position.

I look forward to guiding you toward renewed confidence and connection.

Did you know?

Black men have a 1 in 4 risk of developing prostate cancer.

Yet stigma around masculinity and sex along with common fears about sexual difficulties after diagnosis often prevents them from seeking help early.

1 in 10 men experience erection difficulties.

Sexual health matters. Don’t ignore the signs. Addressing them early can improve long-term health, confidence, and quality of life.

Around 1 in 5 women experience challenges reaching orgasm.

With support and treatment, sexual wellbeing, confidence, and intimacy can significantly improve.

After cancer

Rebuilding intimacy after cancer treatment begins

Ill health can have a profound impact on both individual and partnered sexual wellbeing. The diagnosis itself can create emotional strain and treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy often bring physical changes that affect intimacy, desire and sexual function.

I have particular expertise in supporting people affected by prostate cancer, helping individuals and couples understand and manage the sexual side effects of treatment.

Support for people affected by

  • Prostate cancer
  • Colorectal cancer
  • Breast cancer
  • Head and neck cancer
  • Mouth cancer

As my work has grown and people have reached out for support, I now also work with individuals impacted by colorectal, breast and head and neck cancers, including mouth cancer.

My approach is compassionate and evidence based, focusing on restoring confidence, improving communication and helping people to reconnect with intimacy during and after illness.
